Tickets to the Enescu Festival Still Available. This year, the George Enescu festival will take place between August 30th and September 20th – Bucharest, Romania.

 

One of the most important cultural international events in the world of classical music, the George Enescu International Festival (Bucharest, Romania) offers a unique cultural mix which values George Enescu and other famous composers. A true cultural brand of Romania, the Enescu Festival brings to Bucharest approximately 20.000 tourists per edition and is being covered worldwide by CNN, Euronews, BBC, The Guardian or The Gramophone. The Enescu Festival follows the values in which composer George Enescu believed: creativity, generosity and involvement.

 

Today, an average of 20 works by George Enescu is interpreted in the Enescu Festival by some of the greatest orchestras and conductors of the world. It is in the Enescu Festival’s identity to promote new interpretations of the works composed by George Enescu and to take Enescu’s music abroad and include the compositions in the international repertoires (London Philharmonic Orchestra with Symphony No.3 by George Enescu performed at the Royal Festival Hall is such an example). At the same time, George Enescu Competition, organized separately, yet in the frame of the Festival, opens a door to an international career for young artists all over the world.

 

Starting with the 2013 edition, the Enescu Festival has also reached the public spehere, through an unique concept that  brings to the public space outdoor works of art inspired by George Enescu’s values and takes on generating change in society trough the act of creation: Creative Bucharest.

 

Among concerts still available are those given by famous Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and London Symphony Orchestra

 

Tickets are still available to concerts given by the Bayerische Staatsoper, Monte Carlo Philharmonic, as well as the San Francisco Symphony, the American orchestra that has been awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Music; also by the renowned London Symphony Orchestra under the baton of one of the most acclaimed Romanian-born conductors in the world, Ion Marin. Tickets are on sale through  Eventim network for prices between 40 and 160 lei.

 

Classical music lovers can still find tickets to a few concerts of the 2015 George Enescu International Festival (August 30 – September 20). They can be purchased on www.eventim.ro and through  Eventim network. The audience can still choose from some of the concerts in the Great Orchestras of the World Series (at the Palace Hall), as well as for those at the Romanian Athenaeum – the Chamber Music Series and By Midnight Series.

On Monday, February 16, around 25,000 tickets (out of a total of 46,500 that went on sale) sold in the first hour.

 

Among the interesting  concerts in the Great Orchestras of the World Series with tickets still available is the one performed by Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam Orchestra ( September 20), which is one of the top 10 orchestras in the world. Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam, an orchestra of 120 musicians from over 20 countries, has an audience of 250,000 spectators every year; its first violinist is the Romanian musician Liviu Prunaru. The concerts given by Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (August 31 and September 1) bring back to Bucharest famous conductor Zubin Mehta, who directed this year’s edition of what is perhaps the best known, the most promoted and viewed classical music event in the world: the renowned Vienna New Year’s Concert.

 

San Francisco Symphony Orchestra will perform in premiere at the Festival a composition by George Enescu (on September 6 and 7). The Orchestra received a Pulitzer Prize for Music and it is the first orchestra that made symphonic broadcasts on the radio, in 1926.

 

The opening night of the Festival is reserved to a strong Romanian presence: the Romanian Youth Orchestra (August 30). Consisting of young musicians, it is one of the most promising Romanian orchestras and has received several international awards. In the summer of 2014, the orchestra was invited to give a series of concerts on the famous stage of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Rome, Italy.

 

Tickets are also available for concerts given by London Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of one of the most acclaimed Romanian-born conductors in the world – Ion Marin. The orchestra will perform at the Enescu Festival on September 8 and 9.

 

The public can also choose among concerts given by orchestras such as Scottish Ensemble, Monte Carlo Philharmonic, Mozarteumorchester Salzburg or Michelangelo Quartet at the Romanian Athenaeum. Tickets are also available to concerts performed by several important Romanian ensembles: Cluj Philharmonic (September 3, The Romanian Athenaeum),  the Choir and Orchestra of the George Enescu Philharmonic (September 14, The Palace Hall), as well as to the concert given by violinist Ștefan Tarara (September 12, The Romanian Athenaeum), the winner of the 2014 Enescu Competition.
